This is Ticky.
She greeted us on our arrival to the Alpaca Farm in Carpinteria.
Grandma Shudu and Papa James took us to see these cute fuzzy friends.
Abby loved getting to pet them. She even got to give Ticky a kiss. Ticky believes she is part human, by the way....she was bottle fed by the owner. We got to see an alpaca who had just been born a few hours earlier. He was pretty cute...kinda wobbly like Bambi.
It was a beautiful spot to see the sunset overlooking the Carpinteria Valley and the Pacific!

How fun! I hope Abby doesn't ask for an Alpaca for Christmas. I don't think it would fit in your "backyard."
We had a wonderful time. It really was a beutiful time of day to go, the lengthening showdows on the Alpacas legs looking somewhat like camels in the desert. Ticky was so adorable. I kissed him too. Hi Dawn, I don't think there'd be room for two of them anyway, that's what Carol Ann the owner said, they have to be in pairs or at least two, because they become very lonely with only one. Also not much danger of her asking for an Alpaca, she spent a lot of the time checking out two horses on the premises and wanted to ride. It was a great time and hopefully we'll be able to take Gabriel there too one day, Aaron went along but somehow I don't think he'll remember that the wind blew his hat off. I found out about the Alpaca Farm in Carp, by the 'ilovealpacas.com that was advertised on TV. Thanks Mommy and Daddy for letting us introduce Alpacas to us all. Love Grandma Shudu
PS. Angela I'm bummed that we didn't get you in the picture too. Weren't we going to have Carol take the picture? The pictures I took were crummy. Need to get a new camera. I get better pictures on the Cell phone. Grandma Shudu
Hey Ange, I love the picture of the sunset over the ocean. You can even see the waves breaking. I guess when I win the lottery I'll try to be Tickys neighbor. Maybe even have a couple of our own, at least a couple of horses, with saddles, and helmets, and padded track. Love Grandma Shudu
Hi Angela, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed being at Abby's darling little performance the other day. She is so adorable and I'll never forget her reaching to get to the microphone (I can really see how shy she is). You're a very good director, very professional. I was trying to remember what it was like when I had a music director. I know they weren't as talented as you (nor as gorgeous either)What fun to hold that darling little Aaron. He is absolutely beautiful, holding with our tradition of having the most beautiful Grandchildren anywhere. Love Grandma Shudu
PS. I also had fun going to Abby's classroom after the program the other day. It appears that she looks forward to my Jelly bean holder. I'm going to have to figure out something else I can hide in there for her. Any suggestions. Also nice saying hi to KJ.
i check your blog daily, but alas, the alpacas are still there!! guess you have no time b/c you hubby is a loser--leaving you all time!
